USB to SPI Host Adapters provide an connection from the host PC to an SPI interface, most commonly used for connection microcontrollers to memory devices.

The SPI Host Adapter, when used with control software is used to exercise the SPI Bus and is a very useful testing tool during development and commissioning. The SPI Host Interface is also commonly used for programming on-board SPI memory devices such as the System BIOS non-volatile memory.
