UV Erasers

UV erasable devices such as EPROMS and some programmable logic and microcontrollers require a measured amount of Ultra Violet radiation for safe and through erasure.

A UV Eraser should be be able to meet the erasing specifications for the device and the Leaptronix range of erasers from Leap Electronic have been designed for this purpose. The UV tube is housed within a robust metal case to both protect the tube and avoid any accidental leakage of UV light.

Device Protection

The programming drawer is fitted with antistatic foam to protect the devices from electrostatic discharge (ESD).

UV Dosage

A timer is also fitted to ensure that the dose of UV light meets the specifications for the device to be erased. Partially erased devices can work erratically and unreliably so it is important that the correct dose is given for full erasure.

Operator Safety

The drawer containing the devices to be erased is fitted with a safety interlock which will turn off the UV tube if it is removed.
