4x4 Key Click Board
The 4x4 Key Click Board from MikroE is a standardized compact add-on board featuring a densely packed 16 button DTMF keypad and two 8-bit shift registers. It is designed to connect a 4x4 matrix keypad to a microcontroller or microprocessor without using too many I/Os. All the inputs made on the 4x4 keypad are processed by a pair of serially connected 8-bit parallel-in serial-out shift registers.
The keypad is also capable of registering multiple key presses at the same time. It is compatible with all MikroElektronika compilers.

IC/module: 16 button keypad
The 4x4 Keypad stocks 16 buttons with added silkscreen markings for user convenience in a telephone-style keypad format. The column at the right-most is marked with alphabets A-D, while other 12 buttons are indicated like a telephone keypad. .
SPI is a synchronous serial data transfer protocol used by 4x4 Key click. The 4x4 Key click is designed to communicate with the target board MCU using mikroBUS SPI pins (CS, SCK, MISO, MOSI). .
3.3V or 5V Power Supply
The board is designed to use either a 3.3V or 5V power supply. This add-on board includes a PWR SEL jumper (zero ohm resistor) that allows user to switch the board from 3.3V to 5V power supply.
Register Multiple Key Inputs Simultaneously
The 4x4 Key click can easily record multiple inputs at the same time using the two 8-bit shift registers. Press all 16 buttons at the same time, and all of them will be registered.
