Introduce an easy and compact solution for adding infrared communication functionality to the user design by using the IrDA2 Board. This board comes integrated with MCP2120 infrared encoder/decoder connected with the external crystal as well as TFDU4101 infrared transceiver module. The IR encoder/decoder is placed between the UART and infrared optical transceiver and performs modulation/demodulation in accordance with the IrDA standard. The infrared transceiver is module compliant to the latest IrDA physical layer standard, supporting IrDA speeds up to 115.2 kbit/s. High on performance and low cost, the IrDA2 Board encodes the data received from a standard UART and output as electrical pulses to the IR transceiver. This IR transceiver also receives data which it outputs as electrical pulses that the MCP2120 decodes, and then transmits the data through the MCP2120 UART communication interface. The user can configure pins to be used for RX/TX and set the MODE pin of the MCP2120 using the DIP switches. The IrDA2 Board is designed to use both 3.3V and 5V power supply.
It is an ideal choice for wireless infrared data communication with PC or other devices, remote controllers for home appliances and so on.
The mikroE WiFly click is a communication add-on board that includes a fully-featuring, embedded wireless LAM module—RN-131. It features a preloaded firmware that enable the user to set up the module, and then scan, authenticate and connect to an 802.11 b/g wireless network through simple ASCII commands. In order to establish a wireless data connection to the host MCU, it uses the mikroBUS UART interface alone (RX, TX pins). The UART interface allows to achieve speeds up to 1Mbps.
The power-efficient WiFly click is designed to use a 3.3V power supply only. It hosts a ceramic chip antenna plus a connector for an external antenna. WiFly click features a variety of built-in networking applications, including DHCP, UDP, DNS, ARP, ICMP, TCP, HTTP client, and FTP client. Additional functionality is provided by RST, WAKE, RTSb and CTSb pins. It comes with a set of two jumpers that allows user to enable/disable the RTS and CTS control pins.

The Color 2 Click Board is a compact add-on board that allow the user to introduce colour sensing functionality to the design. It features an ISL29125 RGB colour light sensor that aids user to detect red, green and blue in a variety of lighting conditions. It outputs data from 5.7m lux-10,000 lux, providing an accurate spectral response by converting colours into 12 or 16-bit data. The user can select the range (narrower vs. wider bandwidth) and output resolution (12 vs. 16 bit). Featuring an integrated ADC, the Color 2 click rejects 50Hz and 60Hz flicker from artificial light sources. Along with that, ISL29125 chip has an IR blocking filter, which means it can reliably operate under dark glass covers. Color 2 click communicates with the target microcontroller through the mikroBUS I2C interface (SCL and SDA pins). A programmable interrupt pin provides additional functionality. It works using a 3.3V power supply only.
Color 2 click is an ideal choice for ambient light colour detector, dynamic display colour balancing, OLED display aging compensation, printer colour enhancement and many more.
