Click shield, or "Cape" for BeagleBone Black

Just to continue with the standard naming convention, this BeagleBone Black extension is called a shield. Otherwise, the BeagleBone enthusiasts will most often refer to it as a ‘Cape’. This shield is designed to offer an exact fit with a BeagleBone Black for smooth integration.

Two MikroBUS Sockets

Offered with two mikroBUS sockets (or host connectors), BeagleBone click shield allows user to connect more than 95 different types of click add-on boards from MikroElektronika.

EEPROM Chip: Store Pin Configuration Data

The MikroElektronika BeagleBone click shield uses an on-board EEPROM chip for storing pin configuration data. Previously configured with a blank EEPROM, the set jumpers allow you to set the EEPROM address. The default EEPROM address is 0x54, but can be changed to 0x54 - 0x57 using the two address jumpers. The EEPROM can be written to using the on-board TP1 pin (which must be connected to Ground).
