Current Click Board
The Current click board includes:
- INA196 Current Shunt Monitor: This high-speed current shunt monitor with voltage output can sense drops across shunts at common-mode voltages from −16V to +80V, independent of the INA196 supply voltage.
- MCP3201 12-bit ADC: Combining performance and low power consumption, MCP3201 can be added to any PIC microcontroller. It features 100k samples/second, 1 input channel, and low power consumption (5nA typical standby, 400µA max. active).
- MAX6106 Voltage Reference: Offered in an ultra-small package, this series-mode voltage reference is a low-cost, low-dropout, micropower voltage reference. This three-terminal reference has a low temperature coefficient of 75ppm/°C (max) and an initial accuracy of ±0.4% (max). It does not require an external compensation capacitor and stable with load capacitance.
Compact and Reliable Current Measurement Device
Current click receives current from the output circuit connected to IN (+) and OUT (-) pins of the first screw terminal. The INA196 IC converts this current into a voltage value. The other screw terminal is utilised for an external shunt. If the user wants to measure current values in a range of bands, it is required to provide a shunt of the appropriate value. Subjected to the connected shunt, this click board serves as a great choice for current measurement in wide range of values, from 2mA to 2048mA.
Two SMD Jumpers
Current click communicates with the main board MCU through mikroBUS SPI interface or through mikroBUS AN line depending on the position of J2 SMD Jumper (in SPI/ADC position by default). It uses either 3.3V or 5V power supply, set by J1 SMD jumper (in 3.3V position by default).
