    The Charger Click Board™ is an add-on board that comes integrated with two chips, one is a battery charger controller, and the other one is a battery charge monitor. The smaller chip MCP73831 is a miniature single-cell, advanced linear charge management controller that is commonly used is space-conscious and budgeted applications. This fully integrated Li-ion, Li-polymer charge management controller works with a programmable charge current from 15 mA to 500 mA. The larger chip DS2438 is a smart battery monitor, commonly used in portable computers, cell phones, consumer electronics, handheld instrumentation, etc. The board also features an on-board battery connector to facilitate connection. Charger Click Board™ uses the unique 1-Wire interface, which requires only one port pin, for communication with the target microcontroller. The DS2438 has a unique silicon serial number, which allows several units to work on the same 1-Wire bus.

    This permits multiple battery packs to be charged or used in the system simultaneously. It is designed to operate using a 5V power supply source.

    The DAC 4 Click Board™ carries Microchip’s MCP4728 IC, a Quad Digital-to-Analog Converter with nonvolatile (EEPROM) Memory. The digital value is converted to the appropriate voltage level in the range between GND and VCC, which is proportional to the received 12-bit number.   • DIGI POT 6 Click Board™

    The DIGI POT 6 Click Board™ features the MCP41HVX1 family of devices which have dual power rails (analog and digital). The analog power rail allows high voltage on the resistor network terminal pins. The analog voltage range is determined by the V+ and V- voltages. The maximum analog voltage is +36V, while the operating analog output minimum specifications are specified from either 10V or 20V. As the analog supply voltage becomes smaller, the analog switch resistances increase, which affects certain performance specifications. The system can be implemented as dual rail (±18V) relative to the digital logic ground (DGND). The device also has a Write Latch (WLAT) function, which will inhibit the volatile wiper register from being updated (latched) with the received data until the Write Latch (WLAT) pin is low. This allows the application to specify a condition where the volatile wiper register is updated (such as zero crossing).

    The EEPROM 4 Click Board™ is 2,097,152 bits on a Click Board™, organized into 262,144 bytes. In other words, this Click Board™ is an EEPROM memory medium with the capacity of 256 KB. The used EEPROM module has very good endurance and it can withstand 1,000,000 write cycles, with the data retaining period of about 40 years. The EEPROM module on this Click Board™ can work with power supply voltage ranging from 1.7V to 5.5V, it features the self-timed write cycles, doesn't require erase before writing, has a dedicated write protect pin for hardware protection of stored data, and has a dedicated hold pin used for holding the data transfer.

    The EERAM 2 Click Board™ is a standalone serial SRAM memory that includes shadow non-volatile backup. EERAM uses a small external capacitor to provide the energy needed to move the contents of the SRAM to the non-volatile cells when system power is lost. Unlike NVSRAM, no external battery is needed. EERAM offers unlimited SRAM read and write cycles and more than 100,000 backups to the non-volatile cells. 

    Since power loss events are typically random or unpredictable, EERAM works in applications that absolutely cannot lose the quickly changing SRAM data on any sudden power loss. It provides designers of a data logging/black box or monitoring systems with a safe and accurate way to safely, reliably and automatically store the last data bytes prior to the power loss event. The Vcc is monitored inside the IC and can automatically handle the data movement between the SRAM and the non-volatile memory on any power disruption.
