Atmel Corporation was founded in 1984, by George Perlegos.  Atmel was an acronym for advanced technology for memory and logicÂ. Perlegos had worked in the memory group of Intel in the 1970s and had co-founded Seeq Technology to manufacture EPROM memory. The first Atmel memory products used less power than competitors. .
Atmel merged with Microchip Technology on July 2016.
Atmel Wireless Module Support
The WiFi 7 Click Board™ is based on the ATWINC1510-MR210PB IEEE 802.11 b/g/n module, specifically optimised for low-power IoT applications. It utilises the 2.4GHZ ISM band.
The Click Board™ is designed to run on a 3.3V power supply. It communicates with the target microcontroller over SPI interface, with additional functionality provided by the following pins on the MikroBUS lines: PWM, INT, RST.
