Atmel Corporation was founded in 1984, by George Perlegos. [4] Atmel was an acronym for advanced technology for memory and logicÂ. Perlegos had worked in the memory group of Intel in the 1970s and had co-founded Seeq Technology to manufacture EPROM memory. The first Atmel memory products used less power than competitors. .
Atmel merged with Microchip Technology on July 2016.

The WiFi 7 Click Board™ is based on the ATWINC1510-MR210PB IEEE 802.11 b/g/n module, specifically optimised for low-power IoT applications. It utilises the 2.4GHZ ISM band.
The Click Board™ is designed to run on a 3.3V power supply. It communicates with the target microcontroller over SPI interface, with additional functionality provided by the following pins on the MikroBUS lines: PWM, INT, RST.
