Click Boards™ offer simple and inexpensive way to evaluate and incorporate interfaces into your microntroller-based system. Over 185 different models have been created so far and the list grows weekly.
Developed by MikroElektronika (mikroE), Click Boards™ connect to your microcontroller via the MikroBUS™. a powerful interface common to all models. MikroBUS™ is evolving into a standard within the embedded systems market and is being taken up by many other manufacturers.
Why Click Boards™?
They provide a standard way of adding evaluating new interface devices. MikroElektronika design and manufacture Click Boards™ for device manufacturers to offer a simple way of using their devices. They are compatible with all MikroE development boards, supporting a wide range of microcontroller types including ARM Cortex, AVR, PIC, PIC32, dsPIC, FT90x and 8051. MikroE models are also fully supported by MikroE complers and toolsets and example application code is created to enable you to start using your new Click Board™ straight away This can significantly reduce the learning curve normally associated with the introduction of new technology.
Incorporate MikroBUS™ into Your Own Design
There are many good reasons to want to offer extendability to your own board designs:
- To allow other interfaces to be added to your own system without having to redesign your hardware.
- Test the market for additional functionality at minimal outlay
Although mikroBUS™ is a trademark of mikroElektronika, they allow you to incorporate the bus layout into your design as long as the silkscreen is clearly labeled "mikroBUS™" and includes the mikroBUS™ logo.

HTU21D Click Board
The HTU21D Click Board is a high-precision measurement add-on board that gives an easy way to add a humidity and temperature sensor to your design. The board includes easy-to-use, fully calibrated humidity and temperature sensor to develop reliable environmental sensing nodes. The measurement range of HTU21D click is from 0 to 100 percent for relative humidity. For temperature, the measurement range is from -40 to +125 degrees Celsius. HTU21D click uses mikroBUS I2C lines (SCL and SDA) to communicate with the target board MCU. It is designed to use a 3.3V power supply only. Featuring a plug and play design, it requires no calibration to use. The default resolution of the signal is configured to 12-bit for relative humidity and 14-bit for temperature readings. HTU21D click is designed to use a 3.3V power supply.
It is a reliable choice to develop environmental applications such as data logging, a weather station, and temperature and humidity control in HVAC systems.

Illuminance Click Board
The Illuminance Click Board from mikroE is a light sensor designed for better detection of ambient lighting over conventional light sensors that are too sensitive to infrared light. The board features an onboard TSL2561, a light-to-digital converter, which transforms light intensity to a digital signal output. The TSL2561 sensor uses two separate photodiodes: One is sensitive to the full-spectrum of light, the other to infrared light only. Using a formula, the user gets a sensor reading then approximates light response of the human eye. Illuminance click communicates with your target microcontroller via mikroBUS I2C lines: SCL (clock) and SDA (data). The zero-ohm J1 jumper allows the user to select between three available I2C address.
The Illuminance Click finds application in auto-brightness regulators on OLED or LCD displays, or any other kind of automatic ambient light regulation. It is designed to use a 3.3V power supply only.

IR Distance Click Board
The IR Distance Click Board represents a sensor that incorporates GP2Y0A60SZ0F distance measuring sensor unit. The sensor module is composed of an integrated PSD (position sensitive detector), an infrared LED and a signal processing circuit, measuring between 10 and 150 cm. The sensor remains uninfluenced by the reflectivity of the object such as environmental temperature and the operating duration. IR Distance click board outputs an analog voltage corresponding to the distance of the object (through the mikroBUS AN pin). Since this device outputs the voltage corresponding to the detection distance, it can also be used as a proximity sensor. IR Distance click use a 3.3V or a 5V power supply.
With these features, IR Distance click can be used in applications like touch-less switches, various energy-saving devices, robots, and many more.
IR Eclipse Click Board
The IR Eclipse Click from mikroE is a popular accessory board incorporating an EE-SX198 photo interrupter sensor, which consists of an infrared transmitter and receiver facing each other, separated by a 3mm-wide slit. When an object, say a piece of paper, is placed in the slit, the beam of infrared that travels from the transmitter to receiver is eclipsed, which in return, activates the sensor. The activated sensor status is indicated by the onboard INT LED.
