mikroE Click Boards
Click Boards™ offer simple and inexpensive way to evaluate and incorporate interfaces into your microntroller-based system. Over 185 different models have been created so far and the list grows weekly.
Developed by MikroElektronika (mikroE), Click Boards™ connect to your microcontroller via the MikroBUS™. a powerful interface common to all models. MikroBUS™ is evolving into a standard within the embedded systems market and is being taken up by many other manufacturers.
Why Click Boards™?
They provide a standard way of adding evaluating new interface devices. MikroElektronika design and manufacture Click Boards™ for device manufacturers to offer a simple way of using their devices. They are compatible with all MikroE development boards, supporting a wide range of microcontroller types including ARM Cortex, AVR, PIC, PIC32, dsPIC, FT90x and 8051. MikroE models are also fully supported by MikroE complers and toolsets and example application code is created to enable you to start using your new Click Board™ straight away This can significantly reduce the learning curve normally associated with the introduction of new technology.
Incorporate MikroBUS™ into Your Own Design
There are many good reasons to want to offer extendability to your own board designs:
- To allow other interfaces to be added to your own system without having to redesign your hardware.
- Test the market for additional functionality at minimal outlay
Although mikroBUS™ is a trademark of mikroElektronika, they allow you to incorporate the bus layout into your design as long as the silkscreen is clearly labeled "mikroBUS™" and includes the mikroBUS™ logo.
Third Party Support
Many leading semiconductor manufacturers are now offering MikroBUS™ interfaces on their development platforms allowing our models to be used wherever you need them.
WiFi 2 Click Board
MikroElektronika has introduced its third click with a WiFi module, named the WiFi 2 Click Board. It is allegedly to be the most affordable WiFi click board yet. Designed to easily adding WiFi functionality to your device, this click board features HLK-M30 WiFi module with built-in WEP64/WEP128/TKIP/AES, WEP/WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK authentication. It also has a built-in TCP/IP protocol stack. Along with that, it also supports a few additional network protocols, including TCP/UCP and DHCP/DNS.
Ideal for IoT applications, WiFi2 click is easily configurable and can be set up with either a static or dynamic IP address, which makes it suitable for applications, like home automation, telemetry, remote control, industrial systems, etc. It communicates with the target board microcontroller through mikroBUS UART (TX, RX), RST, and AN lines. WiFi2 click board is designed to use a 3.3V power supply. A red LED indicates WiFi activity. The board is equipped with a PCB trace antenna that is designed for the 2400
WiFi 3 Click Board
The WiFi 3 Click Board from mikroE is a powerful communication add-on board with the ES8266 module that provides the easiest way to connect your devices to the internet. This WiFi module makes an ideal addition to a click board collection if the user wants to venture into IoT. WiFi3 click features a combination of ESP8266 module with a system on chip.
The module further includes an integrated TCP/IP stack and supports WiFi Direct (p2p). The System on Chip (SoC) offers powerful on-board processing and storage capabilities for a WiFi module and offloads all networking functions from the microcontroller. Other than the standard mikroBUS socket, WiFi3 click includes 6 additional GPIO pins for user to connect and control external electronics. It also features a PCB trace antenna that works for the 2400-2483.5 MHz frequency band. WiFi3 click is designed to use a 3.3V power supply only.
Connect anything from a simple LED, data logger, or some type of sensor or switch in a smarthome using this complete self-contained WiFi solution!
WiFi 4 Click Board
Now easily integrate WiFi communication to your existing or new device with the WiFi 4 Click Board! This simple and compact click board features an intelligent WiFi module, called SPWF01SA, with a single-chip 802.11 b/g/n transceiver. The chip is also integrated with a STM32 32-bit microcontroller and a built-in micro 2.4 GHz ISM band antenna. WiFi 4 click also includes an integrated fully-featured TCP/IP protocol stack with added web server and additional application service capabilities. The onboard module is provided with 1.5 MB of integrated flash memory and 64 KB of RAM. WiFi 4 click uses the mikroBUS UART interface to communicate with the target board microcontroller.
