mikroE Click Boards
Click Boards™ offer simple and inexpensive way to evaluate and incorporate interfaces into your microntroller-based system. Over 185 different models have been created so far and the list grows weekly.
Developed by MikroElektronika (mikroE), Click Boards™ connect to your microcontroller via the MikroBUS™. a powerful interface common to all models. MikroBUS™ is evolving into a standard within the embedded systems market and is being taken up by many other manufacturers.
Why Click Boards™?
They provide a standard way of adding evaluating new interface devices. MikroElektronika design and manufacture Click Boards™ for device manufacturers to offer a simple way of using their devices. They are compatible with all MikroE development boards, supporting a wide range of microcontroller types including ARM Cortex, AVR, PIC, PIC32, dsPIC, FT90x and 8051. MikroE models are also fully supported by MikroE complers and toolsets and example application code is created to enable you to start using your new Click Board™ straight away This can significantly reduce the learning curve normally associated with the introduction of new technology.
Incorporate MikroBUS™ into Your Own Design
There are many good reasons to want to offer extendability to your own board designs:
- To allow other interfaces to be added to your own system without having to redesign your hardware.
- Test the market for additional functionality at minimal outlay
Although mikroBUS™ is a trademark of mikroElektronika, they allow you to incorporate the bus layout into your design as long as the silkscreen is clearly labeled "mikroBUS™" and includes the mikroBUS™ logo.
Third Party Support
Many leading semiconductor manufacturers are now offering MikroBUS™ interfaces on their development platforms allowing our models to be used wherever you need them.
Flash Click Board
Introduce additional flash memory to the design with the Flash Click Board. This small accessory board offers an easy and reliable solution for externally storing large amounts of data to be used in the project. The board features an EN25F80 8 megabit serial flash memory with uniform 4 Kbytes sector architecture. Designed for applications that need high performance and low power consumption, it supports clock frequency up to 75 MHz. EN25F80 module comes with software and hardware Write protection that enable the user to Write Protect all or portion of memory via software. The memory is divided into 16 sectors, each containing 256 pages; each page is 256 bytes wide. Flash click communicates with the target board microcontroller through SPI interface. The board is designed to use 3.3V power supply only. The green LED diode denotes the power supply status.
Flash click is an ideal choice for a mass storage option in multimedia devices, drives, optical and printing devices.
FM Click Board
Introduce an FM radio receiver to your design by using the FM Click Board! This add-on board is a complete FM radio tuner that employs a Si4703 IC. It also features two LM4864 audio amplifiers and an onboard 3.5mm audio connector. FM click supports a worldwide FM band (ranging from 76
FRAM Click Board
Now bring 256K of fast additional memory to your design with FRAM Click Board. This add-on storage board features a Fujitsu MB85RS256A IC, which is a 256K FRAM (Ferroelectric Random Access Memory) module. The MB85RS256A module employs the ferroelectric process and silicon gate CMOS technologies to form the non-volatile memory cells. Being non-volatile, it is capable of retaining data without requiring a back-up battery, unlike SRAM. In addition, FRAM click can also provide high-speed write operation and can be used for up to 10 billion read/write operations. FRAM click uses the mikroBUS SPI (MISO, MOSI, SCK, CS), RST and PWM lines to communicate with the target board. The maximum SPI operating frequency is 25 MHz. The board is designed to use 3.3V power supply only.
The FRAM Click Board is an ideal option for the log management and the storage of the resume data, etc.
FTDI Click Board
The MikroE FTDI Click Board is a communication accessory board that includes FT2232H IC, a dual high speed USB to UART, I2C, SPI, and JTAG interface. It enables the user to connect PC and MCU applications using the preferred communication protocol. What makes this click board ideal for a variety of USB applications like smart card readers, instrumentation, industrial control, etc.
GNSS Click Board
GNSS click is a widely-compatible GPS add-on board that includes Quectel
GPS Click Board
To develop GPS-based applications, the GPS Click - L10 is a new GPS click board based on Quectel L10 module. This small-package add-on board allows user to include GPS functionality to the device. The board employs a high-performance Quectel L10 MTK positioning engine with super sensitivity. The Quectel L10 module combines with an array of features with flexible connectivity options. This GPS module supports 210 PRN channels with 66 search channels and 22 simultaneous tracking channels. GPS Click L10 is designed to communicate with the target board using UART or I2C interface. It can also acquire data using PC application through USB connection. This board works with a 3.3V power supply only. GPS Click
GPS2 Click Board
Introduce GPS functionality to your design with the GPS2 click board from mikroE! This compact yet powerful add-on board includes a Quectel L30 GPS module and an SMA antenna connector. This GPS module features an advanced jamming suppression mechanism and an innovative RF architecture that facilitates maximum GPS performance. It can also acquire and track satellites in minimal time at a very low signal level. GPS2 click has three groups of jumpers. The user can choose the communication line between UART, I2C and SPI by soldering the zero-ohm jumpers in appropriate group. Another SMD jumper is used to select between 3.3V or 5V power supply. The board is designed for use with active antennas.
GPS2 click is perfectly suitable for portable devices, vehicle tracking, personal tracking, asset tracking, connected PND, security devices and other industrial applications.
