Why Click Boards™?

They provide a standard way of adding evaluating new interface devices. MikroElektronika design and manufacture Click Boards™ for device manufacturers to offer a simple way of using their devices. They are compatible with all MikroE development boards, supporting a wide range of microcontroller types including ARM Cortex, AVR, PIC, PIC32, dsPIC, FT90x and 8051. MikroE models are also fully supported by MikroE complers and toolsets and example application code is created to enable you to start using your new Click Board™ straight away This can significantly reduce the learning curve normally associated with the introduction of new technology.

Incorporate MikroBUS™ into Your Own Design

There are many good reasons to want to offer extendability to your own board designs:

The Charger click is an add-on board that comes integrated with two chips, one is a battery charger controller, and the other one is a battery charge monitor. The smaller chip MCP73831 is a miniature single-cell, advanced linear charge management controller that is commonly used is space-conscious and budgeted applications. This fully integrated Li-ion, Li-polymer charge management controller works with a programmable charge current from 15 mA to 500 mA. The larger chip DS2438 is a smart battery monitor, commonly used in portable computers, cell phones, consumer electronics, handheld instrumentation, etc. The board also features an on-board battery connector to facilitate connection. Charger click uses the unique 1-Wire interface, which requires only one port pin, for communication with the target microcontroller. The DS2438 has a unique silicon serial number, which allows several units to work on the same 1-Wire bus.

The Color 2 Click Board is a compact add-on board that allow the user to introduce colour sensing functionality to the design. It features an ISL29125 RGB colour light sensor that aids user to detect red, green and blue in a variety of lighting conditions. It outputs data from 5.7m lux-10,000 lux, providing an accurate spectral response by converting colours into 12 or 16-bit data. The user can select the range (narrower vs. wider bandwidth) and output resolution (12 vs. 16 bit). Featuring an integrated ADC, the Color 2 click rejects 50Hz and 60Hz flicker from artificial light sources. Along with that, ISL29125 chip has an IR blocking filter, which means it can reliably operate under dark glass covers.
