Why Click Boards™?

They provide a standard way of adding evaluating new interface devices. MikroElektronika design and manufacture Click Boards™ for device manufacturers to offer a simple way of using their devices. They are compatible with all MikroE development boards, supporting a wide range of microcontroller types including ARM Cortex, AVR, PIC, PIC32, dsPIC, FT90x and 8051. MikroE models are also fully supported by MikroE complers and toolsets and example application code is created to enable you to start using your new Click Board™ straight away This can significantly reduce the learning curve normally associated with the introduction of new technology.

Incorporate MikroBUS™ into Your Own Design

There are many good reasons to want to offer extendability to your own board designs:

  • To allow other interfaces to be added to your own system without having to redesign your hardware.
  • Test the market for additional functionality at minimal outlay

Although mikroBUS™ is a trademark of mikroElektronika, they allow you to incorporate the bus layout into your design as long as the silkscreen is clearly labeled "mikroBUS™" and includes the mikroBUS™ logo.

The GSM Click Board is an ideal solution to add GSM/GPRS communication layer to your project. This accessory board includes a Telit GL865-QUAD GSM/GPRS module that supports GSM/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900 MHz Quad-band frequency. It also incorporates a TXB0106 6-bit bidirectional voltage-level translator and a SIM CARD socket (SIM card not included) integrated on the bottom side of the board. Ideal for mobile devices, GSM click make use of the seven mikroBUS lines (RX, TX, INT, PWM, CS, RST and AN) to communicate with the target microcontroller. The GSM click board comes with a SMA antenna connector as well as 3.5mm quadrupole earphone/microphone jack.The board can use either 3.3V or 5V power supply, selectable via SMD jumper. It is soldered in 3.3V position by default. It has an LED diode that denotes the status of power supply.

Hall current click is a measurement add-on board intended to measure the current utilizing the Hall Effect. The board features a high-precision galvanically isolated TLI4970-D050T4 magnetic digital current sensor in a tiny footprint. The Hall current click board is equipped with two EXTreme ZPower connectors (IP- and IP+) to connect a conducting wire. Split the conducting wire and connect the ends to the two connectors. The current rail is galvanically isolated from the interface to the microcontroller to keep the surrounding circuitry safe. The sensor detects the strength of the current, then sends the measurement data to the target MCU through mikroBUS SPI (SDO, SCK and CS) lines.

Hall current click is based on contact-free measurement principle, which causes no additional power loss and makes it perfectly suited for high efficiency systems. It is designed to use a 3.3V power supply only. The board is an ideal choice for photovoltaic and general purpose inverters, power supplies (SMPS), battery chargers, lighting applications, and electrical drives.
