Methane Click Board

The Methane Click Board makes it simple for the user to add a highly sensitive methane (CH4) sensor to his design. This add-on board comes equipped with an MQ-4 sensor for measuring methane, two jumpers and a power indicator LED. It has also got a calibration potentiometer and a mikroBUS host socket. The range in which Methane click can precisely detect the methane levels is from 200 to 10000ppm of concentrations. The MQ-4 sensor features a gas sensing layer constructed of tin dioxide which is an inorganic compound with the formula SnO2. Tin dioxide is known to have lower conductivity in clean air. As the percentage of methane increases in the environment, the conductivity rises too. The potentiometer enables the user to adjust the load resistance of the sensor circuit so that methane click may be calibrated for the intended surroundings. As the concentration of the target gas changes, the resistance of the sensor component also gets changed.

Methane click finds its application in designing of gas leakage equipment. Being suitable for detecting methane concentration, Methane click can be used in the devices like domestic gas leakage detectors, industrial combustible gas detectors and portable gas detectors.

The Microphone AMP Board is an accessory board that amplifies audio signals detected by the microphone provided onboard. The microphone is connected to a LM4864 audio power amplifier that works well for use in low-voltage consumer applications. The detected audio signals are amplified and sent to the connector used to connect a loudspeaker with an impedance of 4, 8, or 16 ohm. In order to keep the external part count low, the gain is internally set to 20. However, with the addition of a potentiometer and capacitor between pins 1 and 8, user can increase the gain up to 200. Microphone AMP Board is provided with screw terminals for easy connectivity. The power supply voltage has to be stabilized and in a range between 3.3V and 5V DC.

With such features, Microphone AMP Board is an ideal choice for general purpose audio applications, cellular phones, personal computers, and many more.
