Introduce an easy and compact solution for adding infrared communication functionality to the user design by using the IrDA2 Board. This board comes integrated with MCP2120 infrared encoder/decoder connected with the external crystal as well as TFDU4101 infrared transceiver module. The IR encoder/decoder is placed between the UART and infrared optical transceiver and performs modulation/demodulation in accordance with the IrDA standard. The infrared transceiver is module compliant to the latest IrDA physical layer standard, supporting IrDA speeds up to 115.2 kbit/s. High on performance and low cost, the IrDA2 Board encodes the data received from a standard UART and output as electrical pulses to the IR transceiver. This IR transceiver also receives data which it outputs as electrical pulses that the MCP2120 decodes, and then transmits the data through the MCP2120 UART communication interface. The user can configure pins to be used for RX/TX and set the MODE pin of the MCP2120 using the DIP switches. The IrDA2 Board is designed to use both 3.3V and 5V power supply.
It is an ideal choice for wireless infrared data communication with PC or other devices, remote controllers for home appliances and so on.
IrDA2 Click Board
Add infrared communication feature to the device with the IrDA2 Click Board from MikroE! Whether the user is switching a channel on a TV or sending command to the air conditioner through a remote, it involves infrared transceivers. IrDA2 click is an add-on communication board that employs a TFDU4101 infrared transceiver module, compliant to the latest IrDA physical layer standard designed for high-speed infrared data communication. The board also features a MCP2120 infrared encoder/decoder connected with the 7.3728 MHz external crystal. Positioned between the UART and infrared (IR) optical transceiver, MCP2120 module performs the modulation and demodulation method in accordance with the IrDA standard. IrDA2 click uses the UART interface to communicate with the target board microcontroller. Using a SMD jumper, the user can also select to choose between a 3.3V or 5V power supply. The on-board LED diode (green) indicates the power supply status.
With all these features, IrDA2 click for TV and video systems, computers and PDAs, printers, fax machines, photocopiers, external infrared adapters, diagnostic systems, data loggers, and other industrial applications.
IrThermo 3 Click Board
IrThermo 3 click is a device which allows contactless measurement of the object temperature. It uses highly advanced MLX90632 FIR sensor, which detects the average temperature of objects within its field of view (FOV), which is typically ±25°. It is factory calibrated, with the calibration constants stored in its internal EEPROM. Besides EEPROM used for storing trimming values, device settings, and calibration constants, it has additional RAM area that can be used for auxiliary measurement data storage. The integrated temperature sensor provides ambient temperature measurement, necessary for a proper calibration. The device is calibrated to sense objects with the temperature ranging from -20 ℃ up to 200 ℃, and the ambient temperature ranging up to 80℃. The measurement resolution is 0.02℃. Measured data is available via the industry standard I2C communication bus.
IrThermo 3.3V Click Board
Introduce Infrared (Ir) Thermometer to the user design with the IrThermo Click Board. This add-on board offers a compact and easy solution for non-contact temperature measurements. This 3.3V version of the IrThermo click board features a Melexis MLX90614ESF-BAA single-zone infrared thermometer module that is configured to determine temperature in the range of -70 to +380 ??C with output resolution of 0.014 ??C. The MLX9061 module also includes a low noise amplifier, 17-bit ADC, and powerful DSP unit for high accuracy and resolution of the thermometer. For communication with the target board microcontroller, the IrThermo click uses the MikroBUS I2C lines (SCL, SDA) and PWM line. The communication interface can be selected by placing SMD jumpers in appropriate positions. It supports a 3.3V power supply only and features a LED diode that denotes the presence of power supply. A 5V version IrThermo click is also available.
The IrThermo Click Board is an ideal choice for automotive, industrial temperature control, body temperature measurement, movement detection, air conditioning control and many more.
