Serial 7-seg Display Board

The Serial 7-Seg Display Board is a compact display board that employs a MAX7219 serial input/output common-cathode display driver. This display driver is used to create an interface between microcontrollers and 7-segment numeric LED displays. It uses SPI communication interface for communication between the additional board and a microcontroller. It also features four 7-segment LED displays arranged in a single row that allow the user to display digits. The Serial 7-Seg Display Board features a flat cable with IDC10 female header connector on the end, which makes it compatible with all new MikroElekronika development boards. It also provides easy adjustment of connector pinout using DIP switches.

This display board is an ideal choice for applications that require a four 7-segment digit display while saving microcontroller pins and processing power. Such applications include bar graph displays, industrial controllers, led matrix displays, panel meters, and so on.

Serial Ethernet 2 Board

Now introduce more speed and flexibility in Ethernet applications using the new Serial Ethernet 2 Board. Designed to easily connect MikroElektronika's development systems and prototyping boards, the board has an ENC624J600 10/100 Base-T Ethernet controller from Microchip. It also features an integrated MAC & PHY, hardware cryptographic security engines and a unique MAC address. The Serial Ethernet 2 uses the industry standard SPI for communication with the host controller. A series of on-board DIP switches allow user to select which pins will be used for SCK, MISO and MOSI lines. The Serial Ethernet 2 Board can be configured for use with 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers. A jumper J1 allows user to connect to any of the two power supply positions (3.3V or 5V). The on-board LEDs denote the power status as well as indicate data transfer through the Ethernet network.

With these features, Serial Ethernet 2 board is an ideal choice for high-speed Ethernet devices that requires low power consumption and high data rates.

Microchip's ENC28J60 is a 28-pin, 10BASE-T stand alone Ethernet Controller with an on-board MAC & PHY, 8 Kbytes of Buffer RAM and SPI serial interface.



Serial GLCD 240x128 Adapter Board

Enhance the design by connecting the large 240x128-pixel Graphic LCDs with Toshiba T6963C controller to the development system using the Serial GLCD 240x128 Adapter Board. It saves on the number of microcontroller pins needed for running the LCD using a MCP23S17 16-bit I/O expander provided on-board. This I/O expander is ideally suited for applications that demand higher throughput with 4-wire SPI clock speeds up to 10 MHz. Serial GLCD 240x128 Adapter Board features a port with an attached flat cable that has a 2x5 (IDC10) pin female header connector on the end. It is also equipped with an on-board potentiometer for controlling the display brightness.

Compatible with all MikroElektronika development boards, the Serial GLCD 240x128 Adapter Board supports operation using a 5V power supply source.

Serial LCD Adapter Board

Enrich your device with LCD 2x16 or 4x20 character display using 4-wire SPI interface using the Serial LCD Adapter Board. Using a MCP23S17 16-bit remote bidirectional I/O port, this adapter board decreases the number of MCU pins required to run the display. The MCP23S17 module has high-speed (10 MHz) SPI interface that works well for applications that require higher throughput. The Serial LCD Adapter Board comes with a long flat cable featuring IDC10 female header connector that ensures compatibility with all MikroElektronika development boards. The user can also regulate the LCD contrast using the on-board potentiometer. It supports a 5V power supply only. The board has three hardware address pins that allow up to eight devices on the bus.



Serial LCD/GLCD Adapter Board

If you need more pins, GLCD or character LCD for your applications than the Serial LCD/GLCD Adapter Board is the best choice. It is connected to an LCD/GLCD via the on-board MCP23S17 serial port expander that uses SPI communication.



SerialFlash Board

The SerialFlash Board is an add-on board featuring an EN25F80, 8-Mbit (1024-byte), low-voltage Serial Flash Memory with advanced write protection mechanisms accessed by a high-speed SPI-compatible bus. Various electronic devices and applications use serial-interface memory. Initially, it is used to store preference data and configuration/setup data. Known to be one of the most flexible non-volatile memory modules used today, the Serial memory modules are rated way better than other NVM solutions. The EN25F80 memory module offers a lower pin count, smaller package, lower voltage, and lower power consumption.

The on-board LED indicator denotes the power status of the board. DIP switch allows for selection of communication lines and set which pins are used for MISO/MOSI/SCK. The Serial Flash Board is designed to operate using both 3.3V and 5V power supply.

The Serial Flash Board, with such features, makes an ideal choice for multimedia devices, drives, optical and printing devices.



SerialFlash PROTO Board

The SerialFlash PROTO Board is an additional board featuring 8 Mbit flash memory that can be used by the microcontroller or some other device. The board features on-board EN25F80 chip that allows the microcontroller to use additional 8 Mbit flash memory space via SPI serial interface.

Designed to fit into all standard prototyping breadboards, the SerialFlash PROTO Board can be used in a wide range of applications and electronics. Previously used to store preference data and configuration/setup data, the serial memory modules are known to be the most flexible non-volatile memory modules used. This memory module works on low power consumption and low voltage, and offered in a compact package with lower pin count. All this makes this board a better choice over commonly used NVM solutions. The SerialFlash PROTO Board supports operation on 3.3V power supply only. It comes with seven connection pads that are unpopulated to allow user to connect the board to the system. It is configured to operate on a 3.3V power supply only.



SerialRAM Board

Use 64 Kbit Serial SRAM device with the development board or prototype device using the Serial RAM Board. This additional board features 23K640 Serial RAM device designed to communicate with a microcontroller via Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). Using discrete I/O lines, the Serial RAM Board can be interfaced with a microcontroller with no built-in SPI port. It is equipped with on-board voltage translators that allow connection with systems operating at different voltage levels. The board is designed to support both 3.3V and 5V power supply. It has an LED indicator that tells about the power status of the board. Driven by low-power CMOS technology, this board works in three flexible operating modes: byte read and write, page mode (32 byte page) and sequential mode.

With these features, the SerialRAM Board is an excellent choice for depositing large amounts of temporary variables and acquisition data. It makes a great choice for increasing your microcontroller.
