RTC 4 Click Board
MikroElektronika is here with a new RTC click! RTC 4 Click Board is a time measurement add-on board that incorporates DS2417 IC. The DS2417 is a real-time clock/calendar (RTC) with fully compatible 1-Wire MicroLAN interface. It also features a programmable interrupt output for system wakeup on a separate pin. It utilizes an on-chip oscillator that is connected to an external 32.768 kHz crystal. Being a 1-Wire device, it features a unique, factory-lasered 64-bit long ROM code that allows the user to use it in a MicroLAN network.
It uses a backup energy source that maintains a charge with an on-board coin cell 1F supercapacitor. The real time clock has an accuracy of +/- 2 minutes per month at 25??C. RTC4 click communicates with the target board MCU either through MikroBUS AN or PWM pin (here, GPI01, GPIO0), plus the INT pin, depending on the position of the on-board jumper.
- Based on the DS2417 1-Wire Time Chip with Interrupt
- Communicates at 16.3 Kbits per second
- Fitted with a coin cell 1F supercapacitor
- Unique, factory-lasered and tested 64-bit registration number
- Operating voltage range: 2.5V to 5.5V
- Operating temperature range: -40
- Easy integration in mikroBUS form factor
- Can use either 3.3V or 5V power
- Supported by all MikroElektronika compilers
DS2417 is a time chip featuring a unique 64-bit lasered ROM and a real-time clock/calendar. It would make a great choice for any electronic appliance or embedded application using a microcontroller to add functions such as calendar, time and date stamp, and logbook. This compact, low-cost DS2417 package uses a 1-Wire interface for communication with the target board. It also has a programmable interrupt for system wakeup. .
RTC4 click includes a coin cell 1F supercapacitor that blends in with your design and enable the click to do its work for a long time. On the click board, the DS2417 IC is placed under the supercapacitor. .
1-Wire Interface (Selectable Pins)
In RTC4 click, DS2417 acts as a slave device and communicates with the master MCU through a 1-Wire bus. With its 64-bit registration number, RTC4 click can function within a MicroLAN network, i.e., a network of 1-Wire devices that are all associated with a master device. .
