The Amfeltec SKU-039-01 PCIe Riser is designed to extend the PCI Express Bus of a motherboard. It comes with an x1 PCI Express adapter board, x1 PCI Express host board and a 304mm (12") PCI Express Flat cable. The PCI Express host board is connected to the motherboard of the host computer at the PCI Express port. The PCI Express adapter board is then connected to the host board via a 304mm (12") PCI Express Flat cable, and one expansion x1PCI Express add-in board is then plugged into the standard PCI Express female connector provided on the PCI Express adapter board.
The flexible nature of the connection allows positioning of the expansion PCI Express add-in board away from the motherboard or inside the computer chassis around other peripherals. The PCI Express adapter board comes with two mounting holes that aid in easy mounting of the board inside the computer chassis. Along with the mounting holes, this adapter board features two support tabs that provide mechanical stability to the add-in PCI Express expansion board (US Patent 7,255,570).
For convenient installing and functioning, the x1 PCI Express Host card comes with a unique PCI Express add-in board retainer that holds the holds the host card inside the computer chassis without using any bracket (Patent Pending). .
