IC/Module: A4988 Bipolar Stepper Motor
A4988 is a microstepping motor driver equipped with an embedded translator for easy operation. With an output drive capacity of up to 35 V and ±2 A, it is designed to drive bipolar stepper motors in full-, half-, quarter-, eighth-, and sixteenth-step modes.
The user would not require phase sequence tables, high frequency control lines, or complex program interfaces for operating the driver. Simply inputting a single pulse through the STEP input drives the motor one micro-step.
Mixed and Slow Current Decay ModesThe chopping control automatically chooses the current decay mode, Slow or Mixed, during the stepping operation. The device is set to a fast decay for some part of the fixed off-time, then to a slow decay for the remainder of the off-time.
