WiFi 2 Click Board
MikroElektronika has introduced its third Click Board™ with a WiFi module, named the WiFi 2 Click Board™. It is allegedly to be the most affordable WiFi Click Board™ yet. Designed to easily adding WiFi functionality to your device, this Click Board™ features HLK-M30 WiFi module with built-in WEP64/WEP128/TKIP/AES, WEP/WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK authentication. It also has a built-in TCP/IP protocol stack. Along with that, it also supports a few additional network protocols, including TCP/UCP and DHCP/DNS.
Ideal for IoT applications, WiFi2 Click Board™ is easily configurable and can be set up with either a static or dynamic IP address, which makes it suitable for applications, like home automation, telemetry, remote control, industrial systems, etc. It communicates with the target board microcontroller through MikroBUS UART (TX, RX), RST, and AN lines. WiFi2 Click Board™ is designed to use a 3.3V power supply. A red LED indicates WiFi activity. The board is equipped with a PCB trace antenna that is designed for the 2400.
- Based on the HLK-M30 WiFi module
- Built in TCP/IP protocol stack
- Supports standard security authentication (WEP64/WEP128/TKIP/AES, WEP/WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK)
- Supports network protocols (TCP/UDP/DHCP/DNS)
- PCB antenna
- Easily configurable
- Minimal software requirements
- 3.3V power supply only
- Compact and affordable
- Supported by all MikroElektronika compilers
Based on the universal serial interface network standard, the embedded HLK-M30 WiFi module in WiFi2 Click Board™ that allows to achieve the conversion between the user serial and WiFi interface between the conversions. Together with built-in TCP/IP protocol stack, this module offers an easy solution for the serial devices to transfer data through WiFi connectivity.
TCP/IP Protocol Stack
WiFi2 Click can be configured both as TCP/IP client or server and uses either a static or dynamic IP address. If the user happens to mistake something, the user can simply reset it back to default factory settings through the mikroBUS AN pin (marked DEF here).
Support to Multiple Authentication Mechanisms and Network ProtocolsWiFi2 Clicksupports a range of authentication mechanisms and network protocols. With support to various standard security algorithms like WEP64/WEP128/ TKIP/ AES, WEP/WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK, the user doesn't need to rely on silly passwords alone for protection. It also supports a few additional network protocols, like TCP/UDP and DHCP/DNS
